Ancestral Peru

Documentary Series

In collaboration with the production company Piedra Azul Films, five audiovisual documentaries were produced between 2009 and 2016 under the series title Ancestral Peru.

The series explores the profound cultural legacy of Peru’s indigenous peoples, offering an intimate and respectful portrayal of their traditions, worldview, and contemporary realities.

The documentaries were acquired by public television channels in Portugal and Spain and have been showcased at more than 40 international film festivals worldwide.

Las Sumas Voces

Cultural Magazine Project

Duration: 2001 – 2007

Between 2001 and 2007, the association collaborated in the publication of Las Sumas Voces, a pluralistic cultural magazine devoted to celebrating and preserving the richness of Peru’s ancestral heritage and vibrant living traditions.

Recognized for its editorial excellence and cultural depth, the magazine was selected to represent Peru at the principal Book Fairs across Latin America becoming a distinguished platform for the voices, knowledge, and artistic expressions of diverse communities.

CREATION OF THE GREEN LIBRARY

For the past five years, we have developed art workshops and environmental awareness programs in schools throughout the central jungle of Peru. From this experience, a new vision was born: BIBLIOTECA VERDE (Green Library).

The Green Library is an educational, social, and ecological innovation project created by the Association Ayahuasca PerĂşs AmazonĂ­a Siglo 30. Its first model was designed for the Isla del Amor Reserve in Pucallpa, in the central Peruvian Amazon, with construction beginning in 2017.

A Library in Harmony with Nature

The Green Library reimagines what a library can be.

Instead of a closed, silent space disconnected from its surroundings, we envision an open, living environment inspired by natural forms, energetically self-sustaining, and integrated into the landscape.

Here, the boundary between interior and nature disappears.
Learning happens in dialogue with the forest.
Creativity grows alongside the trees.

This model is designed to be replicated in rural communities and urban centers both nationally and internationally adapting to each territory while preserving its ecological spirit.

A Living Space for Ancestral Knowledge

The Green Library is not only a place for books. It is a space where ancestral wisdom, artistic expression, and ecological awareness converge.

We believe that conventional educational models often separate human beings from their inner nature and from the natural world. This disconnection is reflected in consumerism and the unsustainable use of natural resources.

For this reason, we propose learning with nature in its habitat, in its original state. The tree becomes both classroom and teacher.

The Green Library invites us to remember that we are not separate from the forest, we are part of it.

We develop environmental initiatives in the Amazon region of Peru that unite community action, ecological restoration, and institutional collaboration.

Our work focuses on protecting fragile ecosystems and strengthening long-term environmental responsibility in Ucayali.

SAVE YOUR LAKE YARINACOCHA

Lake Yarinacocha is one of the most important natural and cultural landmarks of the region.

This campaign was created to respond to increasing pollution and environmental degradation affecting its waters. Through coordinated clean-up actions, educational outreach, and public engagement, the initiative mobilized citizens, students, and local authorities around a shared responsibility: the protection of the lake.

The project was carried out in collaboration with regional municipalities, environmental authorities, academic institutions, and the local port captaincy — strengthening cooperation between civil society and public institutions.

GUARDIANS OF THE AMAZON

Reforestation Initiative

Guardians of the Amazon is a large-scale reforestation effort focused on restoring degraded land through the planting of moringa, ayahuasca, and native medicinal species.

The initiative set a collective goal of reforesting 1,000 hectares, engaging residents and organized civil society in the city of Pucallpa.

Beyond tree planting, the project reinforces biodiversity, promotes sustainable land stewardship, and strengthens the relationship between communities and their natural environment.

Developed in partnership with local municipalities, environmental authorities, and academic institutions, the project represents a coordinated regional effort toward ecological recovery.
