Arriving in Lima

One or several days before going to our center in Pucallpa, we suggest a comfortable accommodation in the district of Barranco. Transport to and from the airport for around $14.

Domestic Flights

Once you have arrived in Lima we recommend booking your domestic flight to Pucallpa with LATAM airlines.
Star Peru is also a cheap option but they do not have great costumer support and thier payment system is not great either.

Once in Pucallpa

If you are scheduled to stay in Pucallpa for more days before or after retreat, we recommend the hotel http://losgavilaneshotel.com/ The single room is about $35, with private bathroom, internet, swimming pool, breakfast buffet (with ayahuasca friendly diet’s avaiable) and pickup from the airport included.

If you mention that you come recommended by Ayahuasca Peru, you will have a 10% discount.

What to Bring

We recommend traveling light and bringing practical, breathable items that dry quickly. Movement between locations may include boats or small vehicles, so lightweight luggage makes the experience much easier.

Recommended items:

  • Mosquito repellent (You will recive natural brewed repellent at the center but bring you own if you plan to spend time in Pucallpa before or after the retreat)

  • Lightweight rain poncho or rain jacket

  • Breathable, quick-dry clothing

  • Long-sleeve shirts and lightweight long pants (avoid black clothing, mosquitos are attracted to that)

  • Comfortable walking shoes or hiking sandals

  • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Small flashlight or headlamp

  • Dry bag or waterproof pouch for electronics and documents

Weather & Seasons in the Amazon

The climate around Pucallpa is tropical year-round. Temperatures typically range between 24-32°C (75-90°F) with high humidity.

Dry Season (May - October)
This period tends to have slightly cooler temperatures and less rainfall. Trails are often easier to access, making it a popular time for hiking and exploring the forest.

Rainy Season (November - April)
During these months, rainfall is more frequent and the rivers rise. While showers are common, the forest is incredibly lush and waterways become easier to navigate by boat.

Regardless of the season, the Amazon is warm, humid, and vibrant throughout the year, so lightweight clothing and rain protection are always recommended.
